More Than a Church

1ST

We’re not perfect.

That’s probably why we make such a close family, because we’re all a work in progress and seek to grow in grace. We’re not evaluating you—when you walk in, we’re glad to see you! Don’t worry about having to measure up or fit in. Our church family is diverse, so fitting in isn’t an issue. Come as you are and let God do the changing!

2ND

We’re not about “religion”.

Honestly, religion has let a lot of people down. Religious structures and systems are confusing, complicated, and disconnected from real life. We would love to help you move from “religion” into an authentic relationship with God through Jesus Christ. If you’re new to it all, that’s ok, we would love to show you where to start!

3RD

We focus on truth.

There are a lot of things you could talk about when people get together. At Mercerville, we’re committed to sharing the life-changing truth of God’s Word. You won’t hear sermons about politics or personal opinions. In every service the Bible is opened and clearly proclaimed, because it is undeniably true and perfectly relevant to every life.

What To Expect?

Visiting any church for the very first time can make anyone a little nervous.  Where do I go?  What do I wear? What time do I show up?  What’s here for my children?  What can I expect?  These and many more questions can come to your mind.  Well, we want to put you at ease.  Your first visit to Mercerville Baptist Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family.  We want you to experience friendly people, inspiring music, helpful preaching and teaching, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home!”  Here are a few answers to your questions about what you might expect on your first visit.

Whats the Morning Schedule?

Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 11:00. (This service is a little over one hour in length.)  If you can make it an hour earlier, we also have a complete Sunday School program for all ages each Sunday morning 10:00-10:45.  Following the morning worship service, Pastor Joe would like to personally greet you and thank you for visiting us.  Once you arrive at our church make your way into the church foyer, you will be warmly greeted by one of our ushers that will be able to help direct you to where you need to go and answer any questions that you may have.

Where do

I take

my kids?

Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child.  At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under.  For children four years old through the sixth grade there are fun, and Bible-centered classes available.  These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

How

Should

I Dress?

While we do not have a specific dress code for guests, we do believe that going to church is a time of meeting with someone important (both God and His people). Because of this, we try to look our best and exemplify modesty but don’t be afraid to come if you don’t have a suit! We love people and will be glad you came!

DoI have

to give money?

No.  We do not invite you to church for your offering.  We want our service to be a gift to you.  We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace.  Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest!

Other Questions

If there’s something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive.  Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Mercerville Baptist Church will be a great experience!  We are here to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally.  We hope you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment you step into our Church. Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
